Self-Correction Will Elevate Our Soul
The most important prerequisite for a self-correction is self-awareness.One of the most needs to know about ourselves is that each of us has evil inclination.
Many people are frustrated or intimidated by their evil inclination.
The evil inclination is a necessary part of our spiritual anatomy, just as two arms and two legs are. Our principle task on earth is to correct ourselves by channeling the negative energy of the evil inclination into positive endeavors, through spiritual learning and the fulfillment of good deeds.
Self-correction is a war with constant ups and downs. Like in a war we will sometimes win some battles and some we will lose. The stronger we will get, the stronger our evil inclination will become.
As people when we will make a spiritual gain, we will meet harder opposition for our own ultimate good in order to enable us to make further spiritual gains-and to increase our ultimate reward in the world to come.
The same principal will apply in professional athletics-the better an athlete will become the more difficult competitions he/she will compete against.
